Marty Friedman
Marty Friedman has been considered somewhat of a prodigy since he began teaching guitar while still in his early teens. Marty's first major band was Cacaphoney, a collaboration with fellow guitar prodigy Jason Becker (who now has Lou Gehrig's disease and can no longer play guitar). He has recorded a number of solo albums that showcase his wide-ranging six-string skills. His favorite parts of being in Megadeth are meeting fans and traveling to exotic countries, Japan in particular. Marty's first appeared on the album "Rust In Peace" and on the song "No More Nr. Nice Guy" recorded for the Shocker soundtrack.

Marty friedman( lead guitar) comes from Baltimore MD scene. The first song he learned was so song called 'baccus' or something by Rush. You might wanna ask some Rush-heads about that. Marty's 2 greatest influences are Bethoven and Kitaro(Japanese new age guy). His first solo album is Dragon's Kiss, which was an Instrumental metal album, which some oriental flavor to it. Marty is very much into japanese culture...I believe he is married to a Japanese woman. He supposedly has a big fan base in Japan, and has even an instructional video that is only available from Japan. I know Jason Becker is or was also in Cacophony. Supposedly, thats what Dave Mustaine heard of Marty's playing and was AMAZED. Marty applied for the guitarist position in megadeth for the So Far So Good Album, but he was declined at the time since Mustaine had something against Marty's look at the time. Mustaine says he now regretted that decision. But anyway, Marty finally came on board with Megadeth for the Rust In Peace album. Marty has made 2 more solo albums since joining with megadeth. They are, however, not pure metal. It's New age/metal. The 2nd album was called Scenes, which had half the songs produced by Kitaro himself. The 3rd and latest one is called Introduction. On the last 2 solo albums, Megadeth drummer Nick Menza plays drums, as well as new age artist Brian Becvar on keys/piano. Marty's wife speaks some japanese words on the lastest 2 albums.
